PathoGate.net is a digital pathology platform designed for pathologists, lab technicians and EQAS. Its purpose is to facilitate education in pathology by simulating diagnostics of real patient cases and to simplify the quality assessment process when dealing with multiple laboratories and geographical challenges
With a Pro or Team account; you will be able to have 50+ participants join your private session or training, have access to a real-time summary assessment dashboard, have the option to cast content in real-time and have participants share their content. See Account Specifics
Whole slide images (WSIs) can be uploaded separately or as part of a Module or a Case directly from your own slide repository and can be shared with other invited users. PathoGate.net currently supports Hamamatsu's NDP.Serve and more than 150 different image formats. See this guide to Share Images
Users control and have access rights to images, patient journals, patient cases, modules by sharing images or inviting participants to attend training session or modules. Only invited users can access images, documents or cases not created by themselves
PathoGate.net offers a unique opportunity to design your Case or training Module as a simulation of a diagnostic tasks pathologists face every day. In order to simulate workflow and response rates, participants can be presented with a limited number of tissue samples and based on necessity they have the option to order new slides or molecular tests if they find their initial observation inadequate in order to make a complete diagnosis
There is no live video calling function incorporated in PathoGate.net however other video calling platforms such as Skype, Teams, Viber, Zoom, etc. can be used separately from PathoGate.net but will be entirely up to individual course administrators to manage
Modules is designed to combine a collection of images from a cohort of patients or study (not individual images) with information. Question that applies to all images can then be created and assigned to images in that collection
Cases is designed to mimic typical patient cases that combine different images types with clinical information (text) and questions can be created and assigned to individual Case images
For more details see Organize your Content
Participants or course administrators that are joined in a training Module or in a Case, have the option to Cast Content (Field of View or Annotation) in the viewer from their device to all other participants. The Field of View casting between users can either be open for navigation or locked, if opened participants will be able to individually navigate their own slide and submit answers. The Cast of Content function can be accessed trough the top bar of the viewer or by the shortcut key “v”.
Casting from a PathoGate.net Module, participants can be directed to a Specific document, webpage, patient case etc. This function can only be accessed from PathoGate.net Module and not from the integrated viewer
